I've had my expobar lever plus for about 2 weeks now. I've been drinking way more espresso than normal getting everything dialed in, but it has been a great learning experience. After yesterday's pulls, I knew I was close, and lowered my brew pressure a quarter turn. This mornings shots were the best yet. I misinterpreted a few things that I got worked out. The main item was the time. I was timing my shots from the first drop instead of after I engaged the pump. I do a 15 second flush on the first shot and pull the shot within about 10'seconds. Second shot gets about a 5 count flush before I pull. Anyway, my brew pressure guage is humming along at 10 bar and I'm pulling about 32 grams from 16.5 grams in the basket. The bottomless PF is showing a nice, centered cone and THE most important item is the taste in the cup is fantastic. It's gone from cigarette butt to sweet, fruity, caramel.....fantastic. I'm just about out of espresso beans, so I'll be off to my local roaster this morning. The new machine looks great and gets a lot of comments from visitors (about its looks and the espresso).
