Subject: Saeco Magic Comfort Plus Help Please...

I have a 10 year old Magic Comfort Plus, I believe to be a TYPE  SUP012 DE.

The machine continues to display the empty bean error.

I have cleaned the grinder relentlessly over the course of the past couple of weeks, and the issue continues to come back.

I am using the same beans I have used without problem for years, so I am fairly confident that is not the problem.

This morning, I once again I tore down the grinder unit, vacuumed it out, and attempted to brew a shot - and the empty bean error appeared after several attempts to brew.

It appears that the machine is unaware of when to stop grinding, and continues to grind beans until they are almost dust.

Does anyone know HOW the machine determine WHEN the grinder is full, and WHEN to stop grinding?

Any ideas would be appreciated... I need some espresso :)

We see your post but very few here use Super Autos. Hang in there, we do have members who repair SA machines but you will need to wait for them to come around.

Thanks for the encouragement.

It was a little rough going there this morning... had to breakdown a buy a Starbucks.

But it just ins't the same, not even close.

I need to get my baby working again - and soon.

Thanks Again!

There probably is a sensor somewhere. My Jura Capresso Impressa S8 had this error once and there is a sensor that sometimes gets bean oil on it. I'm sure there is one in the Saeco as well.

In my case the error was "fill beans" fortunately on mine it doesn't impact brewing. The sensor might be post grinder, somewhere near the brew chamber.
