Hello to all!
I am a newbie home barista and i recently bought an Ascaso Dream (Versatile version).
I am a little bit confused with the double pressurised filter basket. I tried to fill the basket with 17 grams of coffee to make a double shot but i noticed that the basket takes no more than 12-13 grams. This has a result of making a light double espresso. Has anyone experienced the same? My question is: can i buy a larger basket for this portafilter? After searching i noticed that the filter basket for the ground-only version of Ascaso Dream seems a little big larger than mine (versatile version). Will this basket fit my portafilter?
A shortcoming of the small machines with small portafilters and small portafilter baskets is the reduces capacity. On small SBDU machines I find the single basket nearly useless and tend to use the double basket if I'm going to brew a luongo of more than a single ounce. If you want to make two espressos that aren't quite short, maybe brew two singles, one after the other.
