Subject: Rancilio Classe 8 E04 Error

I have done a lot of research online and even called Rancilio, all with no luck on any information whatsoever on the error I am receiving. (They just told me it is not the system board that is the problem)

I just got done descaling my machine, got it all up and running. All was well. After a while however my TSC steam wand quit reading the temperature of the milk.
After messing around with things (including the circuit board connections) trying to get it to register the temp, I caused an even worse issue. The machine now flashes Out Of Order E04 Probe Open message and the machine will not even heat as it cannot sense the boiler temp. It says machine not ready for a couple of seconds, then shows the time etc as if it were ready, but after pushing any buttons, the error flashes. I know I disconnected the boiler probe wire from the circuit board, but I cant see how that would cause it to stop working all together after hooking everything back up.

*I have already purchased a brand new thermistor (boiler probe), and that did not fix the issue either.

I'm not sure if there is some kind of master reset for the machine that isnt listed in the technical or owners manual?

Been fiddling with it off and on for weeks, frustrated, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Tim

Hello Mark,

I have still found no solution to this problem :/
What did Rancilio end up fixing to resolve this problem when it happened to you?

Thanks,
Tim
