Subject: What is a "diaphragm" pump?

In my search for a new machine I came across the Fiorzanato machines from 1st-line (banner may be above) and noticed the tank version has a diaphragm pump.

Is this just a new name for a vibe pump or is this a new development?

Any reviews on this or the rotary version?

Geoff

I have a Fiorzanato Bricoletta, which is the one with the corrugated panels. It is the non plumbed version.
As far as I can tell ie looking at it etc, it's a vibe, so presumably the diaphragm is a fancy word for vibe?

Having said that the machine has been great, and I have no regrets purchasing it.

Of course a fully plumbed 2, 3 or 4 group was my first choice, but I wasn't allowed that option for the kitchen.

Vibratory pumps do use diaphragms to pump the water, so I would assume they are one in the same.  Sounds like an interesting bit of marketing there...
