Hi,

I consider buying an Expobar Office Pulser. How is the heating up time before you can steam milk and have a "good" espresso?
In the morning I don't have that much time. The small DeLonghi I'm using now takes about 10 min to get a feasable espresso.

Thanks,

Markus

I stumble downstairs before showering in the morning to turn the Expobar on, giving me a minimum of 30 minutes to warmup.  The over-pressure valve on the boiler seals (as the boiler heats, creating steam, the valve closes with a whooooosh) in maybe 8 minutes and the heating cycle light goes out in about 10-11 minutes.  This would be the absolute minimum warmup (as is the case with most machines).  On the weekends I leave the machine on and I notice better shots in the afternoon - this may be due to the machine being completely warm, or better technique since I am not rushing to get to work.

Whichever machine you chose, you may want to get a quality timer to give a longer warmup.

Hi Markus,

Don't even worry about this, use a timer.  I use this Intermatic timer:  Timer TN311C
I got the timer at Home Depot for about $10.

My machine is already warmed up before I get out of bed.  The nice thing about the HX machine like Pulser is it can be for a while with no problems.  It should be preheated at least 30-45 minutes before pulling shots.

I may add a bit to what Jon said.  I have pulled a shot after 15 or 20 minutes of warmup and it was ready.  I keep my Pulser on a timer.  I have one morning a week that I rise 1 hour 15 minutes earlier than other days.  The timer is set for the same for each day.  On the early morning, the machine has about 15 or 20 minutes of warmup instead of 1.5 hours and I don't notice a difference in shots.  Of course, it could be that the early hour is dulling my senses.
