I am thinking about buying some Kuari wood and have some tamper handels made. I have contacted Reg Barber but after a week have not received a response. I have searched the net but am unable to find anyone or any company that can make them. Does anyone know where to go to have them made ? I will have enough wood to make several handles barring any defects in the wood. (about $200.00 a block) Turning block sizes are.... 2 x 12 x 12 3 x 12 x 12 4 x 4 x 12 3 x 3 x 12 all in inches

Hi there... I am sorry we didn't reply to your e-mail if you could try again (if you haven't found an alternative) we would appreciate it. Also if you could be more specific to what it is you want us to do for you I would be grateful ;)

Ken, did this ever go anywhere?
curiosity....
It would be a cool handle.
I was considering doing the same thing with buckeye. I eventually decided against it because it's such a gnarly wood, the return on handles per boardfoot would be very low. I could just see it going badly and me being $300 into 2 tamper handles.

Hello wenus2: It went no where. The ordering process for the wood was questionable. I got one replay from England but the price was very high.
Hello crazytampergirl: Is what I was looking for was a stainless steel tamper with a Kauri handle. Currently I haven't found another source for the Kauri so I gave up on it.
