Wow, very cool.  I wonder how many cups we'd have to order to do a special order.  We would have to think up a color.  I do like those cups a lot and I think the size is perfect!
Rob

Orphan Espresso has the Inker Luna cups, but only in white, black and brown. If you can live with the color they are very nice cups. They're very similar to Lina, which has a different handle.

Orphan Espresso is a distributor for Inker Porcelain, and they say they will special order for you if you want. They have the catalog online at their site. Lots of colors and cup designs available.

Hmm... I'm thinking group-buy! I could use a few more Luna 2-517 cups.

It would probably have to be quite a few before you get a decent price break. And everyone wants a different color. :D Whoever handles the order is in for a lot of work too, repackaging and shipping them all. They should be paid for their time and aggravation. It's a big headache for sure. Nice idea, but difficult to pull off.

That said, if someone wants to do the work, I'm in for a dozen. Color isn't terribly important to me, but I like blues.

49th Parallel has some beauties. I know they aren't plain outside, but they are very nice cups (I bought a pair and I love them - photo at bottom of post).

Did you order a couple pounds of Epic Espresso while you were at it? It's pretty good bean.

No, with a minimum 7 days shipping time & probably more I didn't want to chance it. I've currently got 6 different blends & S/Os on hand so I'm set with espresso for awhile

I received the cups today from 49th Parallel & both arrived broken. The cups were each inside a bubble bag & the cup box was inside another box. Since the two cups and 2 saucers are only separated by the one layer wrap they spent the last week banging against each other each time UPS dropped the box. Nice looking cups but due to the minimal padding I wouldn't recommend them to anyone more then one or two days UPS from Vancouver.

Wow- when I received a set of 10 cups from 49th Parallel I couldn't believe how well packaged they were: tough cardboard box inside of another tough cardboard box, bubble wrap...  This speaks more to the care, or lack thereof, UPS takes with their packages than anything else.  Sorry to hear of your trouble with them.  I hope 49th or UPS comes through with replacements.

No doubt UPS can be brutal but that should be expected by now. The original cup box was well packaged inside a rugged shipping carton. There was no obvious damage to the shipping carton. For a long cross country trip I think separating the cups from each other & the saucers with cardboard would be a good idea as the bubble bag didn't offer enough protection.

On the bright side Vince at 49th Parallel responded promptly to my email concerning the damage. He says I will receive replacements next week & he is looking into making sure this doesn't happen again. While I was definitely disappointed that the cups arrived damaged I'm very pleased with 49th Parallel's almost immediate response & willingness to quickly rectify the problem.

Well, I guess the cups I'm looking for don't exist.  Was on a trip to SanFrancisco recently, and was drinking some 6oz cappas at Blue Bottle.  I usually drink 8oz drinks, but decided I would go with 6oz cups.  I ordered some 6oz ACF cups--black, dark brown, and white.  Also, in San Francisco, there was a Heath Ceramics store and they had some nice 6oz cups, and ordered some of those--various colors.  See pic below.  ACF on left, Heath on right.
Then yesterday was on the Intelligentsia web site and they have some new cups.  One is the small latte 8oz cup.  Plane white with a red stipe near the bottom.  Very nice looking.  Maybe I'll order some.

They're made by Inker Porcelain in Croatia. I read over at home-barista.com that the 49th Parallel cups are from the Luna collection and are Color #108.

Both my Inker cups have developed a fine crack at the coffee-line. I presume it's from thermal shock. I'm very disappointed. I still use them though, and will probably buy another two if/when these break at the crack.
