How is it cross posting when you're talking about two different forums and not all members participate on both? I've frequented as many as 6 coffee forums in a day and have seen the same thread posted by the same person. Nobody seems to mind so keep it that way.

Very off topic but I'm confused about the cross posting. The moderators just said it was not encouraged but allowed with other forums just not within coffeegeek.

Usually, no one bothers to complain, but that doesn't necessarily mean that nobody minds. I think that cross-posting can come off different ways:
The OP is impatient and uses a shotgun approach to post a question to many different boards without waiting for an answer or regard for the membership.
The "signal to noise" radio drops when you feel like you're being spammed or reading the same thing again.
You answer the OP in the first thread you come across, only to discover the cross-post and wonder if the OP is really listening or if you should try and tie the conversation back together.
The OP can often be a new board member who hasn't taken the time to introduce themselves or become part of the community and you end up feeling like your the victim of a hit and run.
Generally, I think it's considered bad form and discouraged.

The most direct and simple way to store your coffee is to buy your coffee in small quantities as needed, WHOLE BEAN, and store it in an airtight canister (ceramic is best) or vacuum canister, in a cool shady spot, possibly on the counter or in the cupboard. The four contributing factors are: light, heat, moisture and air.
If you haven't already it may be worthwhile to do A, B testing. This assuming your purchase habit has been consistant. Although freezing the coffee isn't recommended , it may be an improved outcome.
So.... Just make sure to wrap it well as there can be some damaging exposure to moisture and light from constant opening and closing of the freezer door, and if coffee storage in the freezer becomes necessary:
Store your coffee in the original packaging. Put each one in it’s own Ziplock freezer bag and if you’re a real stickler, draw out the air with a straw while you close the bag. Then put them all into yet another bag, this time a grocery sack to keep out the light.

There are likely hundreds of bean storage threads on this website. The overall feeling is that when done properly, like storing in bags that will last a few days, freezing once then thawing before removing or opening the storage bag, freezing will have no negative effect on beans. It is the store all the beans in one bag, toss it in the freezer then open it, take out one pots worth then closing the bag and tossing it back in the freezer that is bad on beans. That method causes moisture in the air to condense onto the beans in storage and spoiling them.

I wasn't really cross posting. The original post was specific to Classico Espresso beans, and when I realized it happend to other beans after a about 10 days elapsed the thread topic/main forked into something else.
I posted the other thread on feb 2. I posted on here Feb 11. I don't consider that shotgun and impatient. This problem is still persistant for me and I asked on here because I needed more help. I'm glad I did because one other user out of so many had the same problem with vacuum tight containers. This helps me problem solve. If I didn't ask I here I might never gotten that users response. I don't understand why that bothers you, unless you just enjoy being mean and venting.
I have like 200 posts now, I'm not part of the community? in regards to your hit and run reference.
I love this hobby, but it gets to the point I'm scared to post because I'll ether create a great controversy or I will get flamed continuously. I really dread posting on here sometimes because of it. I'm sure you'll justify it in some way or another. I don't think I should get flamed like this and I have to deal with confrontations like this. I'm here to discuss this hobby I enjoy, ask questions, and give my input as normal human beings do when they have conversations. I honestly feel like posts like yours that attack me and take away from the discussion that is the real spamming.

Darin, I agree that you've been poorly treated at times on here. And that's a shame that anyone gets treated bad, but it's all happened to us and at times we can be the ones treating someone poorly (been guilty myself I know). Despite your experience, not everyone's treated you poorly. On the whole people here are pretty supportive. So don't let a few comments get you down, try to look at the bigger picture.
And in this instance, you're unfairly treating yakster. He's been courteous from what I've seen on the forum. His comment that your personally feel attacked by, we're general statements regarding cross posting, not specific to you. He doesnt prefer cross posting, and he's more than entitled to his opinion as are your and as am I.
Remember, this is supposed to be fun! You love this hobby and you're sharing that with others who also share that passion. We all get a bad taste in our mouths from time to time, but bottom line, we're a wide group of people still sharing that passion.

So where are you at now? Have you done anything different? Has changing containers helped the issue? Coffees gotten expensive, so no good throwing it away prematurely.
