Thanks for the confirmation that this works, Rob. There seems to be little to no information besides that youtube video about the process, so i was hesitant about it.
btw i picked up that lower priced 58.35mm tamper from coffeecompliments that was talked about on here a while back. Looks nice. Hopefully it works fine with the HQ baskets from espressoparts(also considering the 21g HQ basket after reading your glowing praise on it, Rob. Did you get the standard or ridgeless?). I'd read that this size tamper should be ok...they better be right. ha

There was an old thread about the tipping method of the Oscar on CG. It is a bit of a pain to man handle the machine on its front left corner for emptying the boiler into the sink but apparently easier for me to do this then to add a hole, some tubing and a shut off valve, lol.
I would have had the baskets in my hand to measure before ordering the tamper. I have the ridged baskets now but need to order two more triple ridge less for back to back shots.
