I had my Silvia for 10 years now, she served me well.  I clean and backflush regularly.  i had no trouble at all with it until last year, where the water was barely dripping out of the group head.  Can't get a decent espresso as it takes too long and the brew gets bitter. So I got it serviced and it was fine again.  Now, a year later, I have the same problem again.  I can't see it needs servicing again since i made the first 9 years without, and it's the same water, cleaning products, etc.  So I changed the pump, but no big improvement apart from the noise level...

Anyone encountered this problem before?

That means descale in case you did not understand their short answers.  Citric acid can be had at bulk stores that sell canning or brewing supplies or brew shops.  Then read or watch youtube videos to understand the process on your machine.

I back flush with Cafiza and descale with  Cleancaf regularly.  This routine worked for 9 years without a problem, why would i now have build ups every year, using the same method, same water, etc?

Any other idea?

On the Urnex site, Cleancaf (powder) and Cafiza (tablet) is for cleaning.  Dezcal is for descale.

Just trying to clarify that you have actually descaled.

Cleancaf is a cleaner and descaler according to the instructions on the box, but maybe it's not strong enough. I am ordering some Dezcal and will try that.

Thanks!
