I want to know if caffeine intake can help you in any way? Some people say that it is not, but I don't believe it, it has got to be something useful. Please let me know.

I studied about it and found that caffeine can actually make more alert. Alertness is needed in many phases of life. Suppose if you are driving a car in the night and you feel sleepy, then you can take a cup of coffee to remain awake. Or if you are a student you want to study late night, then also caffeine can help you concentrate with your studies.

I also understand that the workers in indonesia drink alot of coffee so that they can more quickly shove unripe coffee cherries down the throats of civets so that they can produce more "authentic" kopi luwak.

It's important to understand that the backbone to coffee's effect on our energy levels/alertness is that the caffeine binds to Adenosine receptors, and then does nothing. Adenosine is a chemical which 'informs' our Central Nervous System how much energy we have. This means that the caffeine is taking up the space normally for Adenosine and therefore we believe that there is more adenosine than their actually is (i.e. we are not aware of decreases in adenosine). Essentially, what caffeine does is not 'increase' the amount of energy in our bodies, but instead prevents us noticing the slow decrease in energy that we suffer between meals and over the course of the day. This is why some experience a sudden 'crash' a while after coffee - not because they have less energy, but because their body has just become aware of the lack of energy.
As soon as you sit down to a cup of hot coffee, your boss will ask you to do something which will last until the coffee is cold.
The OP is from Australia. Maybe a lamb chop would be more apropos ...
