That shot looked solid. Crema appearance and the overall extraction looked on point.
Maybe you just dont like the coffee. Which coffee from Detour was it?
I suggest trying a chocolate heavy blend. Redbird is ridiculously popular and hella cheap. My personal opinion is that its hyped up way more then it deserves, but its definitely a consistent, tasty blend. Or Maybe try Dancing Goats, from BAtdorf and Bronson. Or the House Espresso, From Klatch. Or Toscano, from Counter Culture. Or Leftist, from Gimme!. Or Dolce, from Vivace. Oh wait... Canada. Try Old School from 49th Parallel.
All of those are heavy bodied, rich, caramel, chocolately blends. The Dolce in particular is incredibly dense and rich. It requires a pretty high temp, 203.5(so try 203 and 204 and see what you like), which is wayyy higher than most blends like this. Most blends like this are better around 198-200. Ive recently have the Dancing Goats, and its become a new favorite of mine.
