yeah, a little late now, but if you would have asked, I would have replied that I typically get about 100g or so in each 8 oz jar. So, each pound is 454g, therefore, 3 pounds is roughly 1360g, so you'd need 14 8 oz jars. You're 2 short right?
I own 12 16 oz jars, 12 8 oz jars and 12 4 oz jars. I typically use the 16s for regular espresso, the 8s for decaf espresso and the 4s for press (which I take to the office as needed). When I'm even somewhat well stocked with beans, I have to be careful about how much I order. Otherwise, I may find myself putting the wrong beans in the wrong size jar out of necessity. When that happens, I use the odd jars first to avoid confusion. Sometimes, I just dump the excess in a hopper, depending on how much there is and whether there are already beans in the hopper. If it's almost low enough to push in the bean stop at the hopper base, I leave the excess out of the freezer for another day or so, and then when ready simply use them first. For my freezer jars, I always put a small tab of masking tape on each lid labelled with the bean type.

If you want to store your roasted beans, it must be properly done especially if you have more beans. Store them in an air tight container and keep in the bean freezer if you use them within two weeks. Donít store your beans in a refrigerator because of the moist inside the fridge.
To be sure, buy only freshly roasted beans that will give you the maximum amount of freshness.
Did you know...? Dark roast coffees actually have less caffeine than lighter roasts due to the fact that the process of roasting burns off caffeine. www.coffeeloversmag.com/theMagazine
