In that case, as already suggested, you probably overdosed. The shower screen should usually leave no mark on the puck (exept for the screw that holds it in place with some machines).

Doubt it was overdosed, the CC1 double is a large double basket, I use 16-18g all the time in it, actually 18g of the Panther Kenya I have right now is below the basket edges, darker roast are usually just above but when settled before tamping pretty level at that dose. Doesn't hit the screen when locked in (there's actually a lot of headroom on this machine and the screw is flat with the screen leaving nothing sticking out), there will be a screen impression after extraction but that's normal like any other machine when the puck expands.
