Hello. I bought an expensive auto tamper that clicks when enough pressure is applied. I've really enjoyed the tamper.
I dropped the auto tamper on the floor and now it won't click when pressure is applied. Can I fix it? How?
Tamper still works good just does not click anymore.

Okay well then take it apart. See what's wrong with it. It isn't going to fix itself.

It might help if you try that first and if you haven't figured it out post some pics, provide more detail... such as what exact tamper you're talking about. There's more than one 'auto tamper' on the market. I assume you're not talking about the one actually called 'Autotamp', which stays on the counter when used.

It is an espro tamper. Cost about 90.00. How do you take apart? I must have damaged spring when it fell to its death..I mean floor.
Its still a nice tamper. I hope I don't have to rely on muscle-memory.

Three good newses... First, tamping force is not all that important. Second, the Espro feels good in the hand, click or not. Finally, the Espro folks are a great bunch. Contact them and let them know what happened. You never know!
