For some reason the search feature in the forums does not work very well. For instance, using just "oscar" in the keyword section and leaving everything else default returns zero results. This is strange seeing as there are many posts with the word "oscar" in them. If you search for "nuova simonelli" you will find multiple posts with the word "oscar".

Can anyone explain this?

thanks,

nik

Still seems to be a problem. It's as though the search engine does not recognize the word "Oscar" "Nuova Simonelli" searches just fine however. Very strange indeed.

Does anybody read this stuff?

Last weekend I did a very specific search that returned over 50,000 results, highly unlikely given the terms I used and confirmed by looking through the results to see nothing close to what I had searched upon. The results also included posts that by title included a word I wanted to exclude--garbage results. I now skip the CG search and do an advanced Google search limited to the CG forum web address. That works as it should and stays away from the buggy, sad search tool on the site.

Yes the search tool is flawed and Mark is aware of it.  Rather then repairing it the new CG site build should have much improved search feature.  The last several months most if not all site development has been behind the scenes on the new CG site.  Look for it soon, and be ready.  Its going to be really nice.

Great tip using Google search, thanks! I wasn't aware you could do that.

The rebuild of CG is ongoing, but slow, and at one point, I ran out of money for the job, which halted it. I was hoping to have a beta test a month ago, but it looks like the end of the summer now.
