To search more than one city at a time?  Can't figure it out.

I don't think you can. I have tried myself. It does make sense that the searches be limited to your geographical area being that they are running a "classifieds" type site.

The spirit of craigslist is to keep it local so if you want to look at more than one city you just google craigslist with the state and take it from there.

Few on craigslist will ship.  It's community first and commerce second. so if you make a deal be prepared to pick up and bring cash!
OTOH there are about 5 craigslist sites within an hour of me so......

Really not usually much good on the east coast but Franky (from CG) turned me on to a great deal!

I bought my treadmill on CL, I am about to buy a commercial espresso machine and grinder, and have sold and given away many things.

Good coffee to you and your guests

You can also use http://www.crazedlist.org/

The previously posted craiglook.com looks more polished, but I haven't used it, so thought I would
post this one as well.

Best,

I'll second craiglook.com.  I just purchased a Silvia from across the country using that site.  $240 shipped for a 2004 model with a few extras thrown in (tamper, 2nd portafilter, etc.).  There are some CL'ers who will ship.  I usually offer to pay actual shipping + $20 for their trouble.  Sometimes it works.

If you are buying or selling, don't forget to post here.  You will be dealing with people who know what they are talking about and you may even find that someone wasn't even planning on selling till you put out that request.  I expressed an interest in a QM Vetrano in the Grinder area of CG and mentioned I had an interest in finally buying my espresso machine and lo and behold someone made me a great offer.  I did get the grinder, a chrome MaCap M4 on Ebay used for about half the price and it was only 4 months old.  Good Luck.

I go to Google and do the "advanced search" which allows you to specify the site being searched - if you type in craigslist.org and specify a date range such as "within the last week" or month, etc. you should be able to search all of the cities as far as I'm aware of.  It seems to pull up anything that has a URL beginning with www.craigslist.org/ and if no date range is specified, it will give you a lot of old postings that come up invalid so that's not always a good idea.  I'm sure you could even modify the URL being searched with Google to look in a specific Craigslist category.  This might be another option in addition to those already mentioned.

The nice thing about Craiglook is the pictures next to the items.
