Up for sale is my Astra Gourmet, a hulk of a machine (~4L nickel-plated boiler, rated at 180 cups/hr!!) that is beautiful in its American-made simplicity. I am the second owner and it has proven to be my dream machine, but I am moving soon and need to streamline my coffee gear. This machine is cosmetically and mechanically in excellent condition, and is the more desirable model with silicone (not copper) drain tubing and improved steam wand. It has been maintained impeccably, with religious cleanings and gasket replacements, a recent descaling and a new 3-way solenoid. I have numerous extras and spare parts: blind/single/double/triple baskets, naked portafilter along with single and dual spout portafilters, 2 extra grouphead gaskets, and 2 spare dispersion screens. Also included is a bunch of spare tubing and the wacky "no-tamp" dispersion screen.
I have this machine plumbed in, but it is straightforward to use with a reservoir. This machine will be a snap to set up, since all connections are John Guest fittings and the T-fitting to plumb in to a standard water line is included. An inline shutoff valve and pressure gauge will be included as well. Honestly, it doesn't get much easier to go plumb-in.
It really pains me to sell this machine, it pulls a beautiful shot and has wads of steam -- alas life is pulling me in another direction. I am asking $1150 OBO; PM me with offers! Oh also, local pick-up only... unless you are willing to arrange freight shipping!
