Subject: [wanted] for Silvia pump

A few days ago, I woke up to a flooded counter top, and a Silvia that was buzzing.

It seems that my 2 year old son (yes only 2, he loves to do what daddy does) decided to play with the espresso machine switches while the timer was off... so guess what happened when the timer came one 1 hr before I woke up!

The thermal fuse did trigger so it seems that I may still have a usable heater/boiler but I'm only getting buzzing when I try to prime the pump.

Q1 - Is there any way the pump is still good? (praying for a fuse that may have shut it down when it was dry)

Q2 - anyone have a spare they want to donate, pretty please :)

Are you sure that the pump is properly primed?

I'm not. I did try priming it but I did not fee any suction or see any water getting into the tube... I even tried pouring water (using a funnel) directly into the tube.

I'm on vacation until after the holiday so I will pull the machine apart and test the pump.

I just found there might be a hope the pump is not dead?
