Have you considered the 800n(mini 500)? Henry and Hank are two that have this 1lb roaster and the 801N was my runner up to the Diedrich IR1. The price is going to be closer to $3k+ with getting it to the US.
Thanks, Rob. I have followed the threads as well as the one on the Huky. I have about a year to retirement so I am patient in the pursuit. I looked at the Diedrich IR-1 while at the SCAA -- it is up to $10K retail, with the IR-2.5 running at $8.3K.

Wow, I paid $6200, plus some options and crating/trucking which still came in under $10k. I know the 2.5 was only slightly more then the 1 but it was more machine then I needed.
If you have not yet I suggest getting in touch with USRC and other companies you are interested in to see about machines they take to shows, they are not huge discounts but you never know.
Do you have a clock counting down to your retirement? LOL. Good luck in your quest, I love the full control I have plus being able to do back to back roasts with 0 to 1 min to adjust temp for next drop in while beans are cooling.
