Hello everyone!
I've been a lurker for some time but decided to create an account because I love the advice I've gotten from these forums and CoffeeGeek in general. Now, here's my story in a nutshell. I love coffee, especially espresso. I bit the bullet and got my first, and only, espresso machine last year off of craigslist. I found a new (though stored in box, in a garage, for some time) Breville Ikon BES 400XL for $150. The reviews I read gave it good ratings for its price, and suggestions for upgrading it's potential (which I followed). It worked pretty well for a couple of months but the pump's been acting up or the water is just not channeling through the group head. I've been fighting with this guy for the past several months and have decided to upgrade to something that'll last longer and hopefully work better. If anyone has a Le'lit or used Silvia, or something similar please let me know. My limit is $300, though less would be nice. I will be pairing it with a Porlex ceramic burr grinder, which has served me well and given me more arm muscles to boot.
