I am looking for a grinder to use with my Isomac millenium I stepless would be great but is not a requirement for me. I would love a commercial machine but am open to good home machines as well. I would prefer doserless and something that needs very little work before using. I am also happy to hear any suggestions on what type of grinder I should be looking for. Thanks
Edit I appreciate everyone's help I agree with everyone that Baratzas customer service is amazing. They were extremely helpful and accommodating. I also wanted to say Seattle Coffee Gear is my neighbor so I have been getting help from them consistently. They allowed me to return the encore without penalty and answered all my questions without acting the least bit annoyed even when the questions were in no way related to making a sale. I will be a long time customer. I went another direction and purchased a used MDX in good condition it ended up being much less expensive than the preciso with new burrs which ultimately was very important to me at this moment. We will see how the long term costs compare hopefully I never break anything. Thanks again

Tricia , You could purchase a refurb Preciso directly from Baratza. Full warranty. Probably at or less than $250, I own one, and it does a wonderful job with espresso, and also designed to do everything from Turkish grind to press pot. (coarse grind)
EDIT..I was remiss in not mentioning the very place you listed this REQUEST! Hang in there, but also EXPLORE some of the older postings. Sometimes a grinder sells, then "unsells" if the purchaser changes their mind. Good folks here, you can usually bet the gear is in very good shape.

Wow that was fast thank you! I actually purchased an encore from baratza its my first real grinder but unfortunately it is just not quite precise enough for the millennium :) I have been reading on CG for a long time so I know grinder first but I found the Isomac on CL in great condition and couldn't pass it up. It did eat up my entire setup budget though. I had been seeing online that the encore could in fact to espresso and it can but its almost impossible to dial in with my machine only 2 steps work meaning 0 and 1. Baratza offered to trade it since they are local for a refurb Preciso with an upcharge of course. I am scared of the Preciso because of the consumer reviews I have read here and on other sites about issues especially with the burr housing? Have you been using yours for a long time?

Yes,. and I love my Preciso. Just the fact Baratza offered the trade says MUCH about them as a company.
Always remember, negative posters/consumers tend to be a bit more willing to post/send letters, etc than those pleased with their product. Just is.
If, by any chance you have a "crack" or some-such in the plastic ring, its a 10 minute fix. Actually, that part is DESIGNED to crack as a "fail-safe" in the event you had a rock/stone get into your beans, which is NOT that unusual. better a free plastic ring than a new motor or set of burrs. Be not afraid!

I'm new to espresso and have a two week old Preciso. It came with the calibration ring set to coarse. It took 10 mins to recalibrate it and it's working great for espresso. I have been able to tune in my grinds fairly easily. Obviously, I can't speak to the reliability since mine's new but it does appear that Baratza takes care of it's customers.
I also use it for Keurgi (EkoBrew) as I can't do otherwise at work and for my Bunn PhaseBrew. Works great for all of them. With the Keurig, it clearly gives way more consistant particle size than my Breville 450BCG grinder (as it should since it cost 3X as much).
I plan to use it for French Press as well but haven't done that yet.

I've been using my refurb Preciso for several months with no adverse issues. It's been reliable and consistent in switching back and forth from espresso to drip on a daily basis. I highly recommend it as well as any Baratza products.

Thank you everyone for getting back to me so quickly I appreciate the first hand experience with the preciso. I realized after I posted in the BST section that maybe I should have posted my actual questions about grinders in the grinder forums. So I went ahead and posted more specific questions about the machines I am considering bear with me I am not 100% sure I am posting the link correctly :) "HELP Grinder under $300! Advice on used commercial grinders RR45, K6, Astra etc"
I appreciate any advice you all can give me about these grinders. I am already leaning towards sticking with Baratza but I want to be sure before I do the trade or return. I would hate to end up stuck with something that I would want to upgrade later.
