Reading this post the first machine that comes to mind is one I've owned - a LaCimbali Junior. The only problem is this is a well-known machine with a great reputation, so prices rarely will enter your price point unless they need a bit or work. Not saying they aren't sold in your range, just not very frequently.
However, there are some LaCimbali Juniors out there labelled as Pasquinis, which generally command a bit less. A search for Pasquini might end up turning you onto one, and rest assured, this is a full-blown commercial machine and could be used in place of your 2-group.
110-125v/15amp - Yep usable as a home machine - Yep, and should fit under your cabinets, though it'll eat up the entire depth of your couter. can be used in a cafe - Yep (UL approved), and you will not out run it. $1000 or less - Very possible.
While I haven't seen any that are plumb-in/rotary pumped, they may exist. In a cafe you'd empty the reservoir rather quickly, but in a pich I think you'd just be happy you had a machine that was up to the task until your 2-group is up and running.
One last push - parts are generally very cheap and in plentiful supply. And finding a service tech, if necessary, should also prove pretty easy.

I still have a Conti Club 1-group for sale. Here's the ad I posted a while back: http://coffeegeek.com/forums/members/buysell/581455 it's all still true. Only thing is that it might be a 20amp plug, I really don't know. I had it plugged into a 20a socket but I've never been sure if it was necessary, as the plug is two parallel prongs and a u-shaped third, which is unlike the perpendicular prongs I've usually seen on 20amp plugs. See the photo.
Anyway in the original post I said no shipping -- I'm starting to change my mind about that. Especially if you're willing to make some calls, get estimates, pick a packer/shipper in my area, accept the cost/liability and just have me drop it off...

this prevents a properly wired 20 amp device from being plugged into a 15 amp outlet but a 15 amp plug will fit into a 20 amp outlet with no problem. There is nothing to say that someone did not put a 15 a plug on a 20a device but what you have is a 15 a plug.
