Bought used in poor condition (have photos upon request). Performed partial restoration cleaning 90% of the machine (sans the pressure stat). All piping has been descaled in food grade citric acid as has the boiler. Replaced nearly all the gaskets from http://www.coffeeparts.com.au/faema/. Also replaced the heating element but original heating element is actually ok (will be included) and just had a bad meter. Replaced the original broken ulka with a new fluid-o-tech pump. Currently, the machine is mechanically functional but the boiler pressure gauge is off and the espresso does not taste right out of the machine. There was still some scale in the boiler after descaling. I believe this might be causing the espresso to have the wrong taste. In any event, I do not have any more time to invest in the machine due to school and work obligations. I am selling the machine for less than I have invested in it. My loss, your gain. I am very firm on the price. Please email me for any more questions or requests for pictures.

How does the hot water look coming out of the hot water wand? I had a similar experience recently, wondering why my shots tasted off. When I saw the water still had a blue tint despite flushing the whole system twice, it made a lot of sense. Flushed two more times, turned the pressurestat up a bit and man was there an improvement.
I believe the water looked clear. I flushed several times after the cleaning. I had (and have) very little time for troubleshooting due to pharmacy school so I switched out to a cuadra and all is well. If someone had the time to figure it out, this would make a great little machine. Its steam power and plumb in are definitely things I wish the cuadra had.
