I bought this grinder at the end of august 2011 from another coffeegeek member who said he put only 10 lbs of beans through it. here's his thread. http://coffeegeek.com/forums/members/buysell/539033 whether you choose to believe that or not is up to you, but I felt reasonably confident in the condition when it arrived. I have recently consumed up to 1# of beans per week but usually closer to half or 3/4 pound per week. Even if I was drinking 1#/week since I got it in Sept of 2011 (bought august, arrived sept) lets call that 72 weeks or so, or 72 pounds of coffee. I believe these burrs are rated in the 500-600 # range and as you may suspect, this guy grinds as good as the day I got it. anyway, I'll put it up at $350 shipped conus.
biggest fault is previous owner removed the finger guard from the bean hopper in such a way that you would need to buy a new finger guard if you wanted to replace it. please don't want to replace it. will post pics of the hopper.

here is a pic of the hopper. you can see the 3 mounting points for the finger guard. i wouldn't know how to replace that part. you can figure it out if you want. or you can ignore it like i did and try not to put your fingers into the mouth of a grinder while it's on. tempting to do, i know, but probably would ruin the shot.

does anyone else think there are too many WTB ads in this forum? seriously, WTB grinder (insert brand) (insert ridiculous price). total waste of space imho. but if you know anyone selling a k30 for $400 send them my way! :)

No finger guard, really? I lost my left big toe in a grinder a few years back, long story. Think I will pass on this but it does look like a great deal.

I suspect you'll be very happy. I own two of these and love them both. The fingerguard in the hopper doesn't just come out by removing screws (like the one in the doser), so mine are broken off too.
