Heya I'd be interested but just some quick math - if a new set of burrs is going to cost ~45 shipped and a brand new Encore is 129 from SCG...Having a bit of difficulty justifying your price for myself...

I've owned the Encore for coming up on a year and the Maestro Plus for years. I assure your that there is nothing wrong with his price. This is a grinder in excellent condition with a broken-in burrset. I put both grinders through quite a workload (more than the average home user, I'd imagine), and the Maestro has just started to show signs of needing new burrs in the last couple months. The Encore is still fresh. I think his price is actually a bit low.

Hi. I've read that this grinder has a problem with dark oilies, but for the church use I'll be donating for I trust it'll function well for medium and medium-dark roasts blends?
If so, $60 total Paypal, shipped to Boston, do it for ya?
RSVP.
Thanks

ANY grinder will have issues with oily beans, if used consistently. The excessive oils are just an issue for the burrs (and the hopper). You won't have any issues with medium-medium dark, if we're talking about the same level of roast.

Just want to put my $0.02 here. Jorge is a good guy, honest and direct. I would not hesitate to deal with him again, so take it as an honest personal recommendation.

Thanks for the assists everyone.

About the burrs: yes, they should last a long time. Extremely conservatively, at least a year (see above) but more realistically it should be another 2 years! I think in the hopes of being honest and precise with info, a newcomer might misunderstand and think it needs new burrs.

It's tough letting this grinder go since it has been treated nicely, and is great for drip, aeropress, and french press. But, I have a lead on a Pharos and, as a grad student, can't afford to have more than one grinder at home. ;-)

I think 70+shipping is fair, so will give it a day or two more.

Packaged and ready to ship to a good home!

Not sure if you can see, but used clear packaging tape on all sides of the box for extra security.

Shipping info: bathroom scale says 8-9 lbs with dimensions of 7" x 8" x 14"

If a buyer would like extra security, I can double box it with peanuts for no extra charge. However, this will probably increase shipping costs. FYI, I got a grinder shipped to me in a single box from a fellow CG member and it arrived perfectly, and it was a much heavier grinder than the Encore.

Post from Baratza blog on burr life:

http://www.baratza.com/burrs-and-their-life-expectancy

"Encore, Virtuoso and Preciso burrs 300 to 500 pounds of coffee"

Using the example of 2 lbs of coffee each month, but consistently with no breaks, that would be 150 to 250 months or 12.5 to 20.8 years of burr life.

Good looking item! Good luck with your sale!

Listed on Amazon and Ebay (although for much higher prices to cover all the damn fees). Sorry, but really need the $ after paying rent =(

Last call for CoffeeGeekers, will split actual shipping costs 50-50.
