I am cleaning out my coffee goods to make some room and improve the WAF factor of my recent purchase.
This was my first lever espresso machine before I bought a Rancilio leva. It functions perfectly but only has a single basket. You will also see in the pictures that there is a small bit of oxidation on the pressure gauge, which is quite common. Overall this is in great shape due to being in storage a majority of its life.
Notice that this fine example isn't typical, it has no rust, wooden handles, special frothing attachment, both metal and plastic drip trays and a ornate top.
New this was $1400.

Romanticas are great! "Gold" is in color only though, they are polished brass with a protective lacquer coating (the internets has lead me to believe that there are some LPs with actual gold platting...but I haven't encountered one in person yet). The brass is a good thing because it doesn't rust. That mean a rust free base for life! No safety valve drain tube in the steam wand's space either. If I liked the look of brass, these would my most favorite LP model. The price is a couple hundred below market too.
Good luck with the sale Jeremy, and congrats to the eventual buyer...really nice machine at a good price.

I love my Romantica, for all the reasons Russel states.
This design, as I am aware, was made for the US market in brass, but was discontinued a few years ago, even though it was available in chrome in Europe. A recent visit to the importer's website now shows a chrome Romantica professional (not EP) model as being available at a premium of $120 over the standard design chrome Pro. Sort of a rebirth of the Gaggia Factory G-106, without the pointy hat.
I was told a few years back that the brass Romantica was discontinued because of problems with the lacquer coating.....
