Sorry, no pictures, but you can check their web page to get a look at the place. Opened in 2011. Noticed by my BW when we were having lunch across the street, she wondered what the place was? I scooted across to find (nearly fainted dead away) a  coffee house with a la Marcozzo, two big Mazzers, Stumptown in them, and to top it off they were roasting in house. Had both a sample roaster and a San Francisco machine.

Got a cap for the wife in a carry cup and a double shot for me. Both tasty.

Back with the wife next day for a proper tour and sit down. Met the owner-roaster, had cap with proper latte art in ceramic cups and enjoyed the service, comfortable atmosphere and a nice glass of water offered with my espresso.

If down the Jersey Shore you really should consider a side trip to check it out.

I wanted to resurrect this post because it amazes me that it didn't get much attention.

I went to Turnstile yesterday, and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about it. Pulling hairbender to perfection on a La Marzocco (GB/5, if I remember correctly), ground by a Major, and roasting only the best of the green samples that they are sent from their green bean supplier, this shop has produced a Colombia Tolima that has been rated as a 95 from Ken Davids, and Mike, the owner/roaster, humbly chooses not to put out a coffee branded as an espresso until he feels that it's competition for the big 3.

Mike and Gina, the lovely lady who helps him run the shop, do blind cuppings together EVERY morning, and that's how they decide what coffees they will be keeping and which they'll be rejecting. The roaster and roasting station is in the corner of the shop, along with all of the green beans, and it really adds a great, honest feel to an already spectacular-looking shop. Mike and Gina sat and talked to me (leaving every couple minutes to serve customers) for about 2 and a half hours about coffee and the shop and brewing equipment and whatever else came up. We were in the cafe talking an hour after they were supposed to be closed! These are passionate people committed to quality coffee and stellar customer service. The seating is comfortable (Sitting on the leather couch in the corner feels like sitting in your living room), the atmosphere is quaint and familiar, and the people are knowledgeable and friendly...What else could you ask for?
