Yes, it's exactly what it sounds like. It's impractical and maybe annoying but I have a friend that is hard of seeing (legally blind) and keeps losing the top part of the thermos.
So I am looking for a Thermos, of 750ml to 1L that has the drinking cup attached (ie cord, rope, rubber band!!!) to the body in such a way that you will not lose the drinking cup without losing the entire thermos.
Has any one ever seen one? Does it even exist? I am pretty sure it would be a hard product to sell either way since you would have a cord attached to the thermos as you drink from it......
If so, please let me know where I can get one.
Thank you

A cord, rubber band, or piece of string could be tied between the handles to keep it from being dropped or lost. Sort of an improvised version of what you're looking for - it holds 32 oz.
