Yeah, that makes it a little less straight forward.
At the moment the cylinder starts to turn, the full calculated torque would likely be required, but as the beans start to slide, the needed torque would decrease, I imagine. This is mostly pure speculation.
After motion sets in, the bean mass could probably best be modeled as a regular frictional force, but as for the magnitude of that force, I've no idea.
