Hello All,

CoffeGeek.com has helped me to migrate toward coffee that is fit for kings. Thanks to all who contribute to the site.

First off... to explain the Avatar / Icon (Alligator standing near an industrial pump)
I am originally from Louisiana where Alligators thrive, and my thoughts of the alligator standing next to an industrial pump reminds me of one of my co-workers before he's had his coffee. (bit of twisted humor)

I use a Behmor 1600 to roast, a Solis Maestro to grind, and a Melitta manual 10-cup pot to brew.

Roasting: I started with a modified hot air popcorn popper, then to a HearthWare I-Roast, and recently to a Behmor 1600.
Brewing: I tried a few fancy automatic drip pots, and I've given up on all of them.
I've tried french pots a few times, but I don't really like the taste from french pots much.
I've used a Yama vac pot, and I like it very much, but it's a bit too much trouble for frequent use.
I've settled on the Melitta 10-cup manual pot, w/ #6 cone paper filters, and an old tea kettle that I've drilled a hole in to hold a thermometer in place.

I've tried different beans, and when fresh brewed I like Kenyans, Ethiopians, and a few others, but I often migrate back to Costa Rican beans for my "take to work" thermos. The Costa Rican beans tend to not go bad as quickly in the thermos as some of the others.

I've never had a cup of espresso that I liked, but I know that I have not yet gotten one from someone that does it right.

I would like to try a cup of "world class" espresso one day. Does anyone do that near Louisville Kentucky?

Dealing with an operator that hasn't had his coffee yet, is kinda like finding an alligator in the pump you're supposed to service.
