Hey everyone! I'm new to this site, have been enjoying espresso/cappuccino machines for the last 15 years.
I just got a new La Pavoni Pro 16 cup machine within the last week. I have been trying to familiarize myself with the art of pulling a good shot, and as expected, I'm getting a variety of results both good and bad. I am really enjoying the experience!

Hey all!! I'm Joe and have been lurking around here for the last couple of weeks trying to learn all I can about my newfound hobby...and I must say, there is no better place with all the knowledgeable folks here and their informative links, tips, and experienced opinions.
The rigors of the many years in the union pipefitting industry have forced my early retirement at 55, so I wanted to find an interesting hobby to enjoy. I love coffee and started out with a Behmor 1600 roaster from Sweet Maria's. WOW, what a difference...and then thought, I bet I could make some great espresso with this stuff. That urge to go to the next level is what brought me to CG and haven't looked back since.
I found a smoking deal on a new Starbucks Sirena but am still waiting for that to arrive. Also, I just reworked a Rancilio MD40 commercial grinder I found on eBay and am real happy with the results of that effort. This site has been invaluable so far and look forward to progressing on the many learning curves ahead of me. Wayne's (roastaroma) excellent thread on the Sirena looks to be a good place to start.

Hi all, I'm Tristan.
I've been reading this board for a couple months now and today I decided to jump in and introduce myself!
I'm a barista at The Coffee Studio in the Andersonville neighborhood of Chicago. Been there 'bout two months. Prior to that, I had a nine month stint at an unnamed "corporate" coffee place. I love my job and get to play with all sorts of fancy equipment. We've got a three group Synesso Cyncra, two Mazzer Super Jollys (I think they're super jolly, i'm blanking) and we finally got our three-phase Mazzer Robur hooked up and dialed in - it's an awesome machine. Right now we're all Intelly, but in the not-so-far-off future, I think we'll be featuring other roasters. I can't wait!
I'm still relatively new in the specialty coffee scene, but am eating up all the information I can process and constantly trying to find ways to improve my technique. Expect lots of questions (and hopefully answers soon) from me! I've been drinking coffee since I was about 10 (seriously), and frankly, given how I obsess over things, I'm surprised it took me this long to jump in the deep end of coffee.
Beyond all that coffee stuff, I love to sail and ride bicycles, camping, etc.

Hi all
I am an active member of the 'Coffee Snobs' forum, and wanting an understanding of how other countries/people view/prepare/drink the wonderful and versatile beverage of coffee I decided to join this community.
I have been the proud owner of a Silvia/Rocky combination for the better part of a year now and have been enjoying the coffee a decent quality home machine/grinder allows. I am constantly trying to improve my technique and understanding of coffee and brewing. For the last couple of months I have ventured into home roasting using a corretto (heat gun and breadmaker) and am beginning to appreciate how much an art roasting truly is.
I have loved my coffee journey so far and am always striving for a better cup.

Hi All,
I like coffee, and i think I'm just about starting to love coffee! :-)
There's so much to learn about it, but I'm just gonna jump right in there!
I'm off to a place called the Square Mile Roasters in London, to buy my first bag of Fresh Roast - I have been using Starbucks beans until now - which I still like (though I sense I will be derided for saying that ;-)
Anyway, I will see how my first fresh roast coffee experience goes!
I have a Gaggia Syncrony Compact btw.
Best regards, and looking forward to being part of this community!
PS - I will be hanging around the regional UK part of the forum mainly i suspect.

Hello & welcome aboard(so to speak)Sammy mate! Right, so much to learn-though I think with a Gaggia you're on your way-but you've certainly come to the right spot for tips on improving technique, etc..
