Tim, you are certainly entitled to your opinion. But I have to wonder why you would conclude that the Bush administration has done anything right. Let's see... Bush has embroiled our nation in two costly and morally questionable wars, sanctioned torture, infringed upon our civil liberties, and turned our airports into something resembling a bad scifi movie. Our economy is a shambles, the stock market is in free fall, national debt is skyrocketing, and the mortgage crisis has "forced" an insanely expensive bailout plan. Scientific findings have been ignored and/or misused for the sake of big oil and the religious right. In less than a decade, the US has gone from a respected member of the world community to a nation that is regarded with fear and derision around the globe. Need I continue?
The buck stops at the top, my friend. This will be remembered as one of the worst administrations in our nation's history. It has certainly been the worst in my lifetime (and I lived through Nixon!). I can't wait for a change. ==== John
Thank you John for the thoughts. We obviously see things from different viewpoints and that is great for quality discussion. I appreciate your counterpoints and respect your views even if I may not entirely share them to the extent you do.
Bush is out (or will be soon) and I think America has long been ready for it. Obama will have a long tough road ahead of him and I wish him luck, but how much of that can be pinned solely on Bush? I don't think all of it but some yes certainly and most possibly but not it all.
Shucks! I was hoping YES! meant that pstam was invited to join coffeed. That actually might be worse than the presidential No! alternative. Yeah, there is some evil in me.

The president always gets the blame if things don't go the way "you" want. People like to exaggerate and generalize about things.
What I've learned in the military is that if you're in charge and things don't go right, you are responsible for it even if you have no knowledge of what happened.
I drink espresso so I can work longer, so I can make more money, so I can drink more espresso, so I can work longer, so I can make more money, so I can drink more espresso...
