I did like this. It had a bit of a Klezmer feel even if there were no clarinets. I do like Klezmer music. My favorite Jazz sort of centers on the Bebop period but I could be listening to Louis Armstrong's Hot Fives or Fats Waller one minute and Trane the next. As Ellington said there are two kind of music: good music and the other kind.
nothing like the classic stuff. i don't know of any new, good bop. music is like coffe, there is fresh coffee and then there is the other kind. it don't have to be jazz, but it has to be good. that being said....

I guess I should throw in my 2 cents worth(so to speak). And think 'big picture', I can't narrow it down too much - more diverse tastes now than 8 to 10 years ago. This side of the pond, good-& a good variety of-streaming radio can be heard at www.accujazz.com ...or another option is Jazz At Lincoln Center www.jalc.org/jazzcast/index.html . There's also www.jazztube.com if you want the visual aspect. Oh & you can find some lesser known versions, etc(a Ska/Jazz-ok, more Ska than Jazz but...- instrumental Anarchy In The UK, I kid you not rofl-search 'St. Petersburg Ska'!)at/on www.seeqpod.com ...it lets you stack songs or compile playlists, which is great.
Been listening to some pretty decent Aussie radio-although some of it gets a little too 'out there' for even my liking frequently. Gerry Koster, on www.abc.net.au/classic/jazzuplate has some decidedly free-er jazz leanings. But then again you get live recordings of touring names like Joe Lovano, Dave Holland, John Scofield, etc(& some really decent Aussie bands once in awhile). His theme music is great! The program I haven't heard in awhile is Jazztrack www.abc.net.au/classic/jazztrack . It's also from down under, but don't sweat the time diff.-Jazztrack archives their shows for two weeks & Jazz Up Late saves their's for a week so you can listen anytime.

thanks for the great links javanjazz. i will be spending many hours checking them out. i found some jazz radio sites but a lot of them want you to subscribe. i checked out that gerry koster's show. he said he would be interviewing charlie haden. nice! i love to hear interviews. i'm not really into one kind of jazz. i like most all of it, but i know what you mean by "out there". some jazz is hard to listen to or should i say hard to hear.
my machine is about warm. i'm going to make some espresso and check out more of gerry koster's show.
here is a new one i found yesterday. if you like classical music you will like this. i play bass and i really like this this guy. amazing. plus he looks like james gandolfini (tony soprano). :)LOL

i'm posting this one for mark prince. did you ever listen to these guys much? i ask because you have been tweeting about some of the music your into, and for some reason (don't know why) these guys poped into my head. i like them. this is not my favorite song they wrote, but most of the live stuff i found has real bad sound quality.
