Ha! My wife's got a taste for single malts too. Probably from the Scots in heritage. My personal collection I try to preserve but more often than not it comes out to be shared. I quietly sneak it in ;)

The Glenlivet 12yr. I usually have on hand, I like it neat or on the rocks...depends on my mood. I like the 18 yr. when I can get a little...I just can't justify the price of a bottle.
Everybody needs an addiction.
I'm not addicted to coffee, I just have to have a cup EVERY morning.

Just passed up a Balvenie double wood 12 year (?) old in favour of something I haven't tried before. It was less expensive and from what's on the sleeve a blend of a few vintage single malt casks but it's not bad. Dun Bheagan Limited Edition 1997 single malt. Sweet vanilla with some citrus/mango and a good strong smoke finish. Almond and sea salt come out in the body. Not bad. From the Isle of Skye. Good value, I think. Might pick up a bottle to add to a collection.

I'm good with most single malts, with the notable exception of Laphroaig. There's a taste in there that reminds me of burnt popcorn. But I do love me some Lagavulin, so it's not like I'm against Islay styles.
I used to always keep Lagavulin around, but when the price spiked from high $30s to low $60s, I went back to the Grouse for my house scotch.
