Are you for real?

In my experience, any monkey can make a decent espresso. So yes, having a nice looking, happy young woman do it helps a lot.

Yes, but as you can tell from the responses, a lot of Americans are offended. Either that or they're jealous of the girls in the video.

Yar, Happy Camper, I read a few of your posts and threads.  How does this stuff help the forum or espresso and coffee knowledge?

If my speculation about the possible intrusion of mafia elements into the coffee business is valid, then yes absolutely.

Yar.  So much to take issue with.  Where to start.

No, I don't think you are witnessing jealousy.

Perhaps it is the approach/tone of your approach to this topic.  Did you ever stop to think that perhaps many of the members on this forum are unattractive, loud sneering wenches?....Or that most here would value the attractiveness of their barista well below the taste of the brew.  Many on this forum are women and many others are men who would not see the value this adds to a high end espresso business.

I don't think you are mistaken in showing yet again how sex sells.  I just think your audience here is wrong.  Many here would likely think that this cheapens the product...Even those of us who like to look at attractive women.

So... Yar... the guys up in your area go to Hooters and look around to see what kind of men are hanging around?  You guys are certainly different from the guys around here... and you mention a businessman in the video... what businessman?

Posted May 12, 2012 link

Maybe I posted the wrong video, sans businessman. As for the Hooters girls, they looked unhappy. This was true at two of the local Hooters, and both places had bouncers. This could mean something bad happened at one/both places, or it could mean these are mafia establishments, or who knows.

I'd question that, because it assumes that beauty is cheap. I've lived in parts of the USA where beautiful women are truly scarce, so I don't view natural beauty as cheap. In addition, I've visited places where everything is ugly (buildings, cars, clothing), not just the people.

I suggest checking out what Roger Scruton has to say about beauty:

True.. In this case, 'natural beauty' costs several thousand dollars in plastic surgery.

ok. That's a strange thing to say.  I'm not really sure how it has anything to do with anything...certainly not about coffee.
If you're trying to make the point that you like women who look like strippers to serve you coffee, then consider it made.  Otherwise, I'm not really sure what you're going for here.

If we agreed with you here, we likely wouldn't be wasting our lives reading about how to make excellent espresso.
