As a physician I have occasion to meet professional athletes from time to time. A famous baseball pitcher once told me "I'm a fan of whoever pays me the most", in response to one of my co-workers apologizing to him for being a fan of a different team.
Me, I'm a "fan" of the home team...wherever I live, that's who I cheer for. However, at times you'll see me cheer for the opposing team, simply because they pare playing really well, and, well, that's why I'm watching isn't it? To see good plays.

I'm a Seattle Supersonics fan, which means I'm temporarily a Sacramento Kings fan. However, I'm rooting for them to lose so we get a better draft pick. Bring Ben McLemore to Seattle next year!
