Hi all! I'm new to the forum and wanted to introduce myself - my name is Leyla. Obviously here for all the same reasons as the rest of you - I LOVE coffee. Nice to be around others that love it as much as we do. I say we because my husband and I share the same passion for coffee. Been drinking espresso ever since I can remember. My earliest experience was making coffee out of an old tried and true Bialetti. Guess I acquired a taste early on. Still love my little mocha pot and still use it. Not enamored by milk drinks but my husband loves them and I like making them. They tend to be a little heavy for me.
Glad to be a new member and look forward to expressing, sharing, and learning!

Greetings from the Bay Area.
I'm Shawn, a newbie in the espresso town. I used to think Nespresso is the standard for good espresso until I found coffeegeek.com three months ago. Dug a lot of info from here and got myself a Silvia then really fell in love in pulling espresso. Just few days ago I upgraded to the new Rocket R58 V2. I'll try to share my experience in another post. Not to show off! Just want to contribute some as I've learned so much from here.

Long time lurker on the site. I'm really excited with the quality of coffee I've been getting over the last few years. I've tried a lot of different preparation methods from stove top espresso through to french press but my favorite has to be the Chemex. Beautiful !

Hi! I love everything coffee!! I had a coffee house for 8 years that crashed and burned during the most recent downturn in the economy...fast forward a year...looking to reopen a new, smaller, venue in Florida. I am researching new roasters, hopefully in the south, and ideally someone with a leasing program for equipment. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

I'm Rob, spent about 3 weeks reading everything I could and my budget slowly increased from "I'm going to get everything I need for about $300" to about $2k.
So far I'm happy with my purchase, after only a week I'm making latte' and cappuccinos nearly on par with my excellent local shop.
I "invested" (that's what I tell the wife) in a Vibiemme Domobar Jr, Baratza Vario-W, calibrated tamp and bottomless portafilter.
Great website with a wealth of information, thanks for the advice!

Hey I'm new to the site, but not new to the coffe world. I was a barista for 5 years and I've tasted some really great stuff over the years from all kinds of roasters. Right now it's all home brew for me, I have a couple of french presses, an aeropress, and a chemex. I guess I've made one post already, but I got put on strike probably because it seemed like it was commercial. I was merely pointing out where beans could be purchased (in eastern canada) should you want to explore the option of actually getting them. I'm not really sure if I agree with the moderator's decision as I kind of spent a long time writing my review, and I gave credit where credit was due (I think), but I'm hoping I can get over this hump and be legitimized, or whatever....
did anyone else ever have a problem with this?
edit: n/m I just saw this: "Probationary Period: If you are a new signup for CoffeeGeek, you cannot promote, endorse, criticise or otherwise post an unsolicited endorsement for any company, product or service in your first five postings."
would my post be a problem AFTER five posts? I spent a lot of time on it! I made a light box to take pictures!

Hi All, My name is John and I am in the process of opening a coffee house in a small town outside of Omaha Nebraska. I've been a bit of a lurker here for some time as I am kind of a noob to the commercial side of coffee and of course, I love to research and get others opinions, etc. From what i've already read on the forums, I'm very excited about being able to tap into other peoples experience and knowlege of coffee equipment and processes. Thanks to all who posts here and I'm looking forward to posting and getting your feedbacks.

Hi guys, my name is Hrvoje and I'm from Zagreb, Croatia. I've been crazy about coffee ever since I was first introduced to a real espresso in a local coffee house. I am lucky to have a great enthusiast run it. You drink only his blends there and he roasts it himself. He makes coffee on La Marzocco. So I've been making my own espressos on an old Krups for few years and recently bought a Gaggia New Baby Dose. So far it's ok but I expected a bit more. I feel espresso is running too fast on it. I came here because I have milk frothing problems :)
