Subject: "Affordable" Care Act sites DOWN!  (Big Surprise ...)

Today is the opening act of the Affordable Care Act (nicknamed "Obamacare").  And the opening scene is that a good number of the signup sites are down for the count.  I live in Connecticut and all we get is a blank screen.

Article:

The government did a bang up job (NOT) anticipating that lots of people would want to enroll or visit the site.

Dumbass bureaucrats at their finest.  A sign for things to come?  I put my money on it.

11:37am Eastern Time, Connecticut Health Care site still down.  Not due to unapproved budget, due to too many people attempting to access site.  They probably put the site on an old server.

Realize that over 65% of all Affordable Care Act sites are down, unusable.  The collective brillance (read stupidity) of the people who control our lives astounds me.   I think its called governing by the lowest common denominator.

This site:  http://www.accesshealthct.com/  is down 12:43pm EASTERN.

Is that the site you are accessing?  If not you are not on the correct site, AFAIK.

Thats just great, huh?  I have Comcast XTREME, the fastest internet service in CT.  And I cannot get to the site however an outsider can? I tried on 2 different browsers, firefox and chrome (I don't use IE).  No luck on either of them.  WTF?

Yeah, Comcast XTREME rocks, huh? They're using FIOS. My last speed test was close to 60MBps d/l!

I bet it's your browsers.  I was having trouble with ordering options from Chromaticcoffee, and found that with Firefox, I could only select from Visa and MC, but when using IE, I could select from those two, plus Discover and AMEX.  With Firefox, I was only able to select from a few different FedEx choices, but from IE, there is also in store pickup and USPS Priority available.  My work email no longer opens in Firefox, but works fine using IE.  I could give more examples...but I'm guessing that's enough.

oh, and like you...well, maybe not exactly like you...I prefer to NOT use IE when possible.

Xtreme is great, we really like it.  No complaints there.  Regarding the CT obamacaresite, it finally is up.  I have noticed issues between browsers.  I stopped using IE when I noticed that it would pull multiple instances of it in Task Manager (found out it was due to the tabs it has).  Chrome can have similar issues.  I enjoy firefox the most; it appears to use the least mem.

I'm confused, is it the governments fault or the Internet?

I guess to stay within the interest of the thread it's the GUBBERMINT....."(Big Surprise...)"
