Hi!  I was wondering if somebody has made this drink before...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latte_macchiato

How do you pour this?  I'm guessing that you steam milk, pour hot milk/more liquid milk on the bottom, put in your espresso, then top it off with foam?  Is this correct, or is there something else to it?

Thanks in advanced!
Mike

You need to steam your milk with more of a dry foam (you can see in the pictures in wikipedia that the foam is mounding out of the cup). Pull your espresso shot into something with a pour spout.

Pour the milk & foam into the cup all at once. Stop when you are just below the top rim of the cup.

You then gently pour the espresso into the top of the foam and the foam acts to slow the coffee down and it will float on top of the milk. If your having problems with this, you can use a spoon - place in inside the glass of steamed milk with the tip of the spoon touching the glass - pour the espresso into the spoon and let it drizzle down.

Nothing too it really.

Cheers

That is how I do it ...

Ofcourse you can add a flavored syrup to the espresso and then dribble the mixture on to the foam.

My favorite on dark fall/winter mornings when I have a sweet tooth.

Good Day ...

Here is a link to a recipe, but you are going to to wince at some of the ideas the author throws out. Seems like you just foam the milk, then pour the espresso in.
