Taft Street Coffee is looking for one barista to fill a position that can be a mix of opens and closes, but will be heavy on the weekend hours. We are offering 20-30 hours with opportunities for extra cash (leading cupping classes, planning events, booking concerts, etc...). We are also on an aggressive pay increase incentive schedule and offer multiple bonus opportunities. Starting pay is currently $7 an hour plus tips. We provide our own in house training and resources to grow as a barista, and learn plenty about coffee in all of its facets.
As a shop we are interested in consistently producing the highest quality of coffee possible, minimizing our impact on the environment, creating a space for community to function, social justice, and good books.
We are in the midst of developing our own direct trade program. We currently have one coffee we traveled to origin to purchase, and are developing relationships with farmers in other countries as well.
This position will offer limited possibilities of traveling to origin, especially for spanish speakers.
