Subject: Is it possible to organize a Barista Trainging in one of the US states?

Our student is already arrived in US, but he is still busy in his study, normally till 1-2 am in the early morning.  I am still waiting for him to have some free time to go around and meet some people there to talk about coffee.

But, I just had an idea that is to have a Barista Traing course for some people, say 20 or less.

To do this, we need a cooperator to organize it, including prepare for the lcoation, machines and coffee beans, and collecting the fee, so that we can start to prepare for it.

Why do this?  We would let more people in US to know our theory and skills so that it can help those cafes to improve their coffee drinks for a better business.  Any cafe chains or local cafes are welcome to join this course.

This is still in planning, and not decided yet.  It depends on how many people are interested in it.

If possible, we would also to find a cooperating partner so that we can help them to set up our training centre in US, which will be hold and owned mainly by the US partner.  I personally will move to other part of the world for such a business, and my colleagues will remain in China.

The BGA (Barista Guild of America) is working on  a three step certification program that should be finished shortly.  There will be multiple training areas in the U.S.

Are you sure it works well?  For so many years, how does it end?

We may have a competition.  Find ten cafes, you train the baristas of five of those ten cafes, and we train the baristas of the other five of the ten cafes.  After 15 days, let's compare the quality of the coffee drinks of those ten cafes.  After some months to an half year, we can compare the sales of those cafes.

Okay.

You provide the cafes, equipment, and funding.

We'll source our own coffee.
