As the company is going through rapid growth, we are looking to strengthen our team by recruiting an experienced Master Roaster to manage all coffee roasting activities for Highlands Coffee. Highlands Coffee is a leading coffee producer, distributor and coffee shop operator in Vietnam. We have our own factory and about 60 outlets nationally. Job Title: Master Roaster

Job Statement:
Manage all coffee roasting processes and activities for Highlands Coffee.

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage all operations in regards to coffee roasting;
  2. Responsible for selecting, training, coaching and retaining coffee roasters;
  3. Supervise workers who are grinding, blending, roasting and packaging gourmet coffees;
  4. Train workers on the equipment and monitor operation of the equipment;
  5. Source coffee beans from different origins;
  6. Supervise and verify the reception process for green bean and raw material for roasting and flavor blend;
  7. Set up roasting, mixing, grinding plan;
  8. Designate ingredients and adjust roasting profiles;
  9. Develop local and international blends;
  10. Update roasting color standards and new mixing recipes forwarded by Lab and QC;
  11. Cooperate with QC, Lab department to verify the quality of roasting, flavor blend, grinding, degassing;
  12. Assess the finished product for specified viscosity, color, texture and taste;
  13. Responsible for total quality of coffee beans;
  14. Ensure preservation conditions meet standards;
  15. Propose and implement adequate systems and processes, guidelines, procedures and regulations for roasting;
  16. Responsible for monthly inventory stock;
  17. Periodically report inventory data to inventory accountant;
  18. Consistently demonstrate respect of company values and leadership behaviors to build positive business relationship.

Relationships:
Report To: Head of Food
Supervises The Following: Coffee Roasters
Working Relationships: Production, QC, Lab department, Finance Dept, Accounting Dept

Requirements:
  1. Minimum 2 years experience in similar position;
  2. Passion for coffee and ability to drink coffee for testing purposes;
  3. Ability to work with a Vietnamese team of limited English skills.
