Farmer Brothers has an excellent opportunity for a Quality Assurance Supervisor. The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for identifying and resolving quality problems related to the development and production of coffee and tea. Implements various components of a quality assurance programs comprised of data analysis, systems evaluation, product assessment (includes cuppings), and quality technology. Develops process control procedures. Responsible for raw material, in-process, or finished goods quality control. Researches product defects recommending modifications in products or standards and prepares necessary reports. Develops and/or maintains quality standards for the manufacturing facility to ensure consistent roasted coffee quality, consistent packaging and ensure facility meets common standards in the industry.
Responsibilities: • Work with all employees to ensure that quality standards are met in roasting, grinding, and packaging of coffee and tea. • Conduct internal audits to monitor the quality of our product and work with Managers to develop corrective action steps to correct deviation. • Cup production roasts and incoming coffee daily. • Maintain quality labs: ensure good record keeping, maintain quality equipment and QC personnel are following all steps. • Supervise and direct QC Technicians. • Provide training to all personnel on Quality Assurance Standards. • Assist in the development of new coffee and tea blends. • Monitor Quality Complaints: maintain records, follow-up with customers, report findings to management. • Assist other department managers/supervisors with projects as needed. • Support Product Development Manager as needed. • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in related field or at least 2+ years of experience in a coffee manufacturing environment • Knowledge in HACCP, GMP, SQF and USDA regulations a plus • Minimum of 2-3 years operating Windows and associated Microsoft Office applications, including: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc. • Team oriented problem solver who takes ownership of their work • Self-motivated individual • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Safety conscious and excellent interpersonal skills.
