Subject: CG's new logo, branding - comments?

This will be an ongoing thread... but for now, one logo, several "graphicals" to go with it.

I'm in the midst of rebranding the site's graphics, etc. It's three stage.

  1. Create a new logo.

  2. Create a series of CG-exclusive "graphicals" to use with the logo, and with a slate of CG-branded products that are coming soon.

  3. Massage the logo so that the graphicals can be used within it, and also so that the logo can be converted to the following shapes - long, rounded, box, tall, square.

I'm still working on logos based on the name "coffeegeek".  This one seems to be a fave of people around here, but it's early days yet. I'm also showing off some of the graphicals (there's a whole slew, from dancing goats to the civet cat, and lots in between, including animated cups, etc.).

So, what do you think? any graphic designers out there willing to toss me some fresh ideas via email? How about the graphicals?

First up. the logo and one of our new characters - the civet cat (wait till u see the beatnik civet, and the poop in the forest civet lol!)

Lot's of cute critters, Mark. Would it be possible to integrate the animal with the words "CoffeeGeek" instead of being added after the word? It might create a more cohesive logo. For example the monkey could be hanging from the "e". The goat dancing on top of both "e"s. A snake could weave in and out of the letters. All the animals could be drinking coffee out of various containers. The snake could be using a straw. The goat could be holding a mug.

I'm just brainstorming here. Feel free to ignore it all.

I LOVE them Mark! {:-D
The rounded domed look to the lettering & right handed shadowing effect makes the lettering appear three dimentional! Very sharp & crisp vibrant colors!!

Did anybody ever figure out whether the civet cat story was an urban myth or not? I saw a local newspaper article the other day retailing a variant of the animal poop/coffee story, this time in SE Asia.  Some guys in New South Wales are trying to breed a cow that gives perfect cappuccino milk so I'll vote for the cow.

Jeff-who has his first ever driving test in 40 minutes and shouldn't have had 3 lattes for breakfast-I think I'm already speeding...
