Preview: John,  I have both the 155 and 185 SS Kalita Wave along with the Preciso/Esatto combo. I have not experienced what you have described. I usually use a 10%/30-40 sec bloom with the last bit of water...

Preview: I'd still ask Breville.  They did extend warranty claim periods for many of the BDB machines, and have served up the 920XL's as replacements.  Never know.  They might be able to swap it for you.
