See http://www.coffeeco.com.au/newsletter/may2006.html for HK, Thailand I've never found a worthwhile place. You'll mostly want to drink Iced Coffee anyway. Taipei has some great coffee places, lots of syphon brew shops and a reasonable coffee geek population, but don't know any specific shops, it's been over 10 years since I was last there.

All coffeegeeks are welcome to look me up when in town.  I am now over in Kowloon.

I will say that Terry`s shop (mentioned in Alan`s newletter) is without equal in HK.  The capp he made me the other day is in my all time top 3 coffee drinks.

Yet another vote for Terry's "Crema Cafe"

It's a little hard to find but perhaps this will help:

From Central: Take the East Tsim Sha Tsui ferry from Queens Pier.  At the East TST ferry pier, cross the nearest overpass (both sections, so you cross two dual carraigeways) and then walk along the back of the Regal Kowloon Hotel to to an alley that separates the hotel and the Penninsula building.  It's down that alley, on the right

From TST: Take the avenue of stars (great walk) along the Kowloon foreshore to the overpass nearest the East TST ferry pier.  Same instructions as above from there.

Map below refers.

Another case of bad timing.  I was in Hong Kong all last week and desperately looking for a good coffee shop - only spent one day in Kowloon, but I probably walked right past it!

Oh well, next trip over...

From Nathan Road, facing the harbour:

Turn LEFT down Mody Rd. Walk down Mody Rd, cross Chatham St.S., remain on the left hand side of the street. When you come to the Royal Garden Hotel turn left in towards the Peninsular Centre. There is a turning roadway here to allow taxis etc. to drop passengers. Facing the Peninsular Centre, with the Royal garden behind you, walk right. There's a short alleyway at the end of the roadway, Crema Cafe is about half way along it.

That's about as specific as I can get. You can always try Google Maps.
