When we sold the Hario vac pots they came with a screw together clip for paper filters. This was a standard item with the vac-pot and you can buy replacement filters. It would have been easy to use this for a swiss gold cut out. Maybe try and hunt down one of these.
Let me know how it goes.... I'd be interested in your findings. I also have a TC-2 and Santos... as well as the Bodum Bistro pour ever (with the gold mesh) and was thinking a similar thing the other day. Finding a bit of mesh that would cover that surface of the disk might be a challenge.
Ben's post prompted me to look at my 2006 Hario catalogue that i got when i was living in japan and hindsight shows that getting this item while i was in japan would have been a good idea, but alas...
Anyways, the catalogue lists two items that would work similar to what bens link shows, the codes are F-103M and F-101P, F101P especially is almost identical to what is in bens link.
Would anyone know where this item would be easily obtainable/purchased?
Everything is written in japanese regarding Hario, which is annoying i spose....
Regardless thanks allot guys, i think worst case scenario i will get a mate to buy one for me in japan.
You want to get F103-M (for 2+ cup models). F-101P is for 1 cuppers (DA-1) only and is not compatible with anything else due to the extra short chain. While you are at it, might as well get the Hario french press mesh that was used in that website (TF101M).
Matty, I'm not too sure where you can get a cloth filter from as our supplier is no longer around and we are long out of stock. If you like I can send you a bodum filter and you can cut it to fit.
ah, it's no stress for now, I can easily find paper filters and cut them to fit. Actually a bodum 3 cup plunger filter fits on that screw together thing, just need a really coarse grind with it!
plus my espresso machine is up and running and that's all I seem to have time for lately.
but thanks - I'll be in touch if I decide I need one!
