I only know of one roaster near Penang, however I do not know if you can purchase fresh beans from them.

They are located in the north west near Sungai Petani, perhaps you could contact them and ask them for any of their retailers.

They produce coffee powder however I know they roast beans on site to process further so you may be able to buy from them.

They told me they buy a lot of beans from PNG, Sumatra, Indo etc

Best of luck with your search,

Mimmo

There are two places in Penang that roast www.sitigun.com & Lighthouse. In Kuala Lumpur there is www.lavacoffee.net, we import from Merdeka Coffee in Indonesia

Thanks for the reply folks. I will pass the info to my family members in Penang. Not sure if they're as fanatical about fresh roasted coffee though. I'm sure I'll be happy when I visit.
